The gunmen said to be three in number were said to have ambushed Tuface's car in company of two of his friends who had picked him up from the airport at about 7:30 pm ,and opened fire through the rear of the vehicle, injuring the Benue-born music star. Speaking to newsmen, Hyacinth Idibia, younger brother to Tuface, confirmed the incident, saying he had to be moved from the hospital he was first at to another hospital for security reasons. He said the gunmen had ambushed Tuface's vehicle from the bush and shot sporadically at the car which was caught in a traffic-jam. Confirming the attack on Tuface, Lagos State Police command, said immediately after the incident, Tuface had called them and they almost immediately arrived the scene of the incident, recovering his 'stolen' vehicle, a statement denied by Hyacinth Idibia who said the gunmen did not steal anything from Tuface, much more the car he was in. This is the second time in a little over a year that the ace mucician would be attacked. Idibia had early been attacked by hoodlums who besieged his then Festac residence, fracturing his neck amidst several injuries in what was termed a robbery attack.. The artiste whose song African Queen won the song of the decade at the recently held Nigeria Music Awards, had released the video CD of his latest work Grace To Grass.
