2Face, Dâbanj, Fally Ipupa Nominated At BET Awards 2011

The very popular annual BET Awards is back and this yearâs ceremony is set to blow the minds of many with the line up of performers and side attractions. Nigerian pop stars 2face Idibia and DâBanj have also been nominated as they fall under the âBest International Act: Africaâ category. Last year, Nigerians M.I and P Square were the first Nigerian acts to be included in the nominations list.2face and Dâbanj will contend with Congolese singer Fally Ipupa, South African rap duo Teargas, D-Black from Ghana and the legendary singer Angelique Kidjo.

It is great to see a popular musician collaborate with a government agency to effect change and positively influence their community.A few days ago, Beyonce announced her collaboration US First Lady Michelle Obama and the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation to help combat childhood obesity and promote healthy eating and exercise; In Nigeria, 2Face Idibia is working with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to battle against the menace of fake and sub-standard food and drug products in Nigeria. For this purpose, he has released a song and video titled âMan Unkindâ.

D'banj He is one of the young Nigerian contemporary artistes that
have become very successful at doing music. But Afro- pop singer,
Dâbanj, has said that although he dreamt of being a force to reckon
with, he never thought he would hit the success height so quickly. The
hit-maker said this much during an interview session with an American
entertainment television, BET, which was aired recently. The Koko Master
disclosed the fact that his mind is always channelled towards the
positive lane boosted his career success.
