Uganda: 'I Was Inspired By Bow Wow'
Sunday, 28.05.2006, 01:43pm (GMT)

Mark Lule Kiggundu is a 12-year-old Ugandan boy who lives in Bedford View in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has released four songs so far. He told Rainbow's Aggie Asiimwe Konde an interesting story about his music career. Here it goes.

I started singing in 2005 at Johannesburg Leber's studio in South Africa. The singing was sparked off by an advertisement I found in my dad's car calling upon kids who wanted to develop a talent in music.

I was inspired by Bow Wow and Lil Romeo's songs and the way songs make many people happy.

My first song was produced in November 18, 2005. I have not performed at any live show but at family social events. My best TV programmes are MTV Cribs and Pimp My Ride on MTV. My personality is really funny. I love chocolate cakes and I love laughing with my baby cousins. My best musician is Nelly.

My best songs are Flap Your Wings and Like This. My best local singer is Danny K, from South Africa.

Mark likes spaghetti and chilli and his role models are his parents; Dr Fred and Edith Kiggundu. He says; " I would like to thank dad, mum, uncle and the rest of the family for supporting me in my career, plus the recording studio"

His songs are, Like this, Marky Way, Eeyo and Amizon Hills. Marky Way is his best song

Mark wants to be an actor when he grows up. He said: "I want to work hard until I get to my dream of acting. He has two siblings; one kid sister Ethel Kiggundu (10) and a kid brother Joel Kiggundu, who is 7 years old.

Mark comes to Uganda once every two years.

"We were last in Uganda last Christmas when presidential campaigns were in high gear," he said.
