Gambia: Youssou Ndour Storms Banjul

Youssou Ndour, the Senegalese International music super star, yesterday performed at the July 22 Square in Banjul as part of the victory celebrations of president Jammeh landslide victory in the September 22 Presidential polls.

The Senegalese Ndaga Super Star's unprecedented free show was organised by the Victory Celebration Committee.


The ceremony was attended by thousands of Gambians including The Gambian leader President Yahya Jammeh,Vice President Dr Aja Isatou Njie Saidy, Secretaries of State, other top government officials and top Gambian Artist.

In a short statement before his performance, Youssou Ndour commended President Yahya Jammeh for the initiative in providing such a "beautiful and sophisticated musical instruments for The Gambian artists".
