The Ivory Coast utility player, who filled in on the right side of defence and midfield for the Gunners, flew to Turkey yesterday to put the finishing touches to the deal, at the same time that officials from Galatasaray were arriving in London to do the same thing, according to the Times.

Despite being a popular member of the dressing room, Eboue failed to hold down a regular starting place at the Emirates and now joins the likes of Felipe MeloJohan Elmander and Colin Kazim-Richards at the new Turk Telekom Arena.

Eboue's departure follows quickly on the heels of Cesc Fabregas' transfer to Barcelona, while Samir Nasri's future is no nearer to being decided with Manchester City chasing his signature.

Gael Clichy has also left the Emirates this summer, with Denilson returning to Brazil to play for Sao Paulo on loan as boss Arsene Wenger attempts to free up funds for new signings.

Arsenal face a crucial Champions League qualifying tie tonight against Udinese, who they take on without Nasri and new captain Robin van Persie who are suspended, while Tomas Rosicky faces a late fitness test.
