Peter Osaze Odemwingie seeks Premiership move Wednesday, 17.12.2008, 04:24am (GMT) Nigeria's Osaze Odemwingie says that he wants to leave Russian club Locomotiv Moscow in January and is keen on playing in the English Premier League.
"My priority will be the English Premier League, and then [after that] it would be a real big club in Europe," he told BBC Sport. "Of course I'll be looking at the best clubs in England, maybe the top five or six, not a smaller team if I have the choice of a big club in Europe." The striker ruled out a return to France. "I love the country, I like the league - but I want a new experience," he said. "I'll see what options I can get if I can reach an agreement with Locomotiv then probably this January I'll be in a bigger league." He also explained that right he had only ever planned to stay with Locomotiv for two years. "It told them that I'd come for two years and now its getting close to that so the next step is to look for another chance in Europe," he said. The 27-year-old was born in Uzbekistan to a Russian mother and a Nigerian father. He also holds a Russian passport and says he has no regrets about his time in Russia. "I decided to play there for reasons other than just football and at the same time Locomotiv are a big team in Russia," he said. "I am at home there because I grew up there. "I don't regret it at all, I think it was very good for me to go to Russia. "Everyone knows me now and I have that satisfaction because that's where I grew up but people didn't really know me there."
